RANGE WALK-INS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BETWEEN 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM ON MAY 26, 2020.
Triangle Shooting Academy will be open between the hours of 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Monday, May 25th – Sunday, June 1st.
We are excited to announce that we have begun permitting walk-in range time. The range reservation system will still be utilized for the bulk of our range time. To reduce your wait time, we suggest making a reservation if your desired time is available.
We will continue to operate under the same safety guidelines as the previous weeks. Please read below for the guidelines we continue to follow.
Safety Measures Going Forward
With uncertain times, we want to take a moment to emphasize that we will remain dedicated to the health and safety of our Team Members and Guests. All mandatory and suggested guidelines from the Governor of North Carolina and the CDC will be adhered to as we move forward.
Triangle Shooting Academy will be limiting the total amount of people inside the facility at one time. This limit includes all team members, range guests, retail guests, and gunsmithing guests. Triangle Shooting Academy Team Members will be stationed at the front door to control the number of guests inside the building.
If you are participating in any of these services, you are required to wear a face mask; gloves are suggested. Hand sanitizer will be readily available to all guests throughout the facility. Additionally, we are requiring that all guests remain 6 feet away from all other individuals. Distance markers will be placed on floors and signs throughout the facility. Please note that the requirements will be strictly followed.
We will be reopening our range for those who wish to practice and develop essential skills in safe firearm handling and self-defense. If your range card has expired, you may renew your waiver now by clicking here. Your updated Range Card will be issued when you arrive for your reservation.
For any new shooters looking for instruction, we have developed New Shooter Sessions on Mondays. These sessions were developed so new shooters can learn safe firearm handling while continuing to practice social distancing. For more information and how to register for New Shooter Sessions, refer to the below section.
-Range Time will be done through reservations only and a form has been developed to assist you in reserving your Range Time. To ensure that all our guests have an opportunity to use the range, we ask that you only reserve one hour of range time per week.
-Shooters will be placed in every other lane to guarantee that we maintain 6+ feet between all guests and staff. This cautionary measure will permit only 6 lanes to be utilized per bay. All three bays will be utilized during the reopening, totaling in 18 available lanes per hour.
-No lane shares will be permitted unless you are immediate family.
-Firearm rentals are still permitted. All firearms will be disinfected between renters. Disinfecting processes may slow down firearm rental exchanges. We ask that shooters refrain from excessive exchanges.
-Although ear protection rentals have always been sanitized in between uses, we have made the decision to suspend these rentals as an added sanitary precaution. If you do not have a set of ear protection, one will be available for purchase at a reduced cost.
-Sign up for Range Time by clicking the links provided at the bottom of this newsletter.
-There will be no reservations or appointment times for retail transactions. Guests will be served in a first-come-first-served basis. Guests who are waiting to be assisted for retail transactions will remain outside, in line, with 6 feet apart until permitted. Once permitted into the facility, all guests will be assigned to a retail team member who will assist them during the entirety of their visit.
-We ask that guests refrain from roaming the facility during their retail visit and request that all retail transactions are limited to 30 minutes. This request is so that we can limit the wait time for other guests.
-Please refrain from bringing extra guests with you during your retail transaction.
-Quantity limits on specific items such as ammunition will continue until further notice. See store for details.
-If you are interested in purchasing a firearm, please confirm that you have all the required documents:
To purchase a rifle or shotgun: A valid, non-expired driver’s license or identification card reflecting your current living address.
To purchase a handgun: A valid, non-expired North Carolina Driver’s License or Identification Card reflecting your current living address. Either a non-expired North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun Permit or a non-expired North Carolina Pistol Purchase Permit. If you have an NC Concealed Handgun Permit, your address must match your NC Driver’s License or Identification Card.
All courses scheduled for April and May have been postponed. If you have registered for one of these courses, our Education Coordinator will be contacting you by phone to discuss rescheduling. If you have any immediate questions, please contact her directly at Education@triangleshootingacademy.com. We hope to be permitted to host all June and July courses. We will evaluate the situation as we proceed through May.
Once our facility reopens for normal business hours, all members expiration dates will be extended by the number of days Triangle Shooting Academy has been closed or has restricted hours during the reopening. Members will continue to receive range time at zero cost during reopening. We ask that members limit their range time to one hour per week.
New Shooter Mondays
Until further notice, Triangle Shooting Academy will be hosting New Shooter Sessions! These sessions are designed around semi-automatic handguns; however, we hope to expand these sessions to revolvers and long guns in the near future.
These sessions will be 1 ½ hours, with 30 minutes of classroom instruction and 1 hour of range time. During the classroom portion, students will be taught how to safely operate a handgun and the proper fundamentals of shooting. When on the range, students will implement what they learned in the classroom through instructor-led live-fire drills.
These new sessions will be limited to 6 students. This allows us to keep with social distancing guidelines by placing one student in every other lane while on the range and allowing ample space in the classroom. Students are required to wear a face mask; gloves are suggested. You are welcome to bring your own handgun. If you do not have your own, we will provide a Glock 9mm. You will need a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition. Please note that if you use one of the TSA provided Glock handguns you will be required to purchase 9mm ammunition through TSA. Ear and eye protection are required. If you do not own your own set, they will be provided at a reduced cost.
Our Master Gunsmith, Kapp, has been diligently working to service all firearms that were dropped off prior to closing. At this time, we are contacting those guests who have a firearm ready to be picked up. Firearm repair pickups will be done by appointment only.
TSA Café will remain temporarily closed until further notice.
Again, thank you for your understanding and patience as we transition from our temporary closure to reopening. All guidelines and procedures that we have implemented are for the health and safety of our community. Our intentions are to continue providing a safe and welcoming environment for shooters to learn and practice safe firearm handling during these times. We are hopeful that our planning will create a smooth gradual reopening. Please note that this reopening will evolve over time. Updates will be given through our Newsletter and Facebook as they come up. We look forward to seeing you, from six feet away, very soon!
Reserve your Range Time!
We have started using a new system for range reservations! This new system requires an account to be created. This account will send you an email confirmation, reservation reminder email, will make future reservations easier and permit you to process your own cancelations. We hope that you enjoy this new and improved system. If you are having any trouble with reservations, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
