NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor Certification
June 4 • 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
This objective based course focuses on teaching the NRA Personal Protection in the Home course to students who are interested in learning how to protect their home. In order to take this course, the NRA requires instructor candidates to attend the Personal Protection in the Home course as a student, so they can grasp the methodologies and concepts of the student class. Instructor candidates must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to teach the selected NRA discipline. They must pass their Instructor Exam with a 90% or better. Students must also successfully complete their discipline’s Shooting Qualification in order to earn their official NRA Certified Instructor rating. Approximately 9 Hours.
Instructor Shooting Qualification
Successfully demonstrate the shooting qualification standards as outlined (Click Here); the first test is included in the class registration fee. If you cannot pass the shooting qualification for an instructor you will need to schedule a second qualification test ($49.95 each additional test). We strongly suggest you practice for this test before applying for the class. Remember, if you cannot pass the shooting requirements you will not successfully pass the course. It is the Instructor Candidate’s responsibility to be prepared for the test prior to the qualification date.
At the completion of your training, provided you have passed all test and shooting requirements, you will be nationally recognized as an NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor. Once certified, you will have the authority to teach the official lesson plan to students.
*It is highly recommend that Instructor Candidates be a member of the National Rifle Association prior to attending their NRA Instructor course. If you are not currently a member, please (Click Here) to join at a course discount.
