NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting
NRA Basic Instructor Training
This objective based course teaches how to instruct the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course where you will be providing “hands-on” training to students to assist them in further developing their practical skills, assessing their progress, and will be working through a checklist of requirements. Instructor candidates must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to teach the selected NRA discipline. They must pass their Instructor Exam with a 90% or better. Students must also successfully complete their discipline’s Shooting Qualification in order to earn their official NRA Certified Instructor rating. Approximately 10 Hours.
Instructor Shooting Qualification
Successfully demonstrate the shooting qualification standards as outlined (Click Here). The first test is included in the class registration fee. If you cannot pass the shooting qualification for an instructor you will need to schedule a second qualification test ($49.95 each additional test). We strongly suggest you practice for this test before applying for the class. Remember, if you cannot pass the shooting requirements you will not successfully pass the course. It is the Instructor Candidate’s responsibility to be prepared for the test prior to the qualification date.
At the completion of your training, provided you have passed all test and shooting requirements, you will be nationally recognized as an NRA Pistol Instructor. Once certified, you will have the authority to teach the official lesson plan to students.
*It is highly recommened that Instructor Candidates be a member of the National Rifle Association prior to attending their NRA Instructor course. If you are not currently a member, please (Click Here) to join at a course discount.
